Our story
A hotel that lives like its region
A new name, the same address, a whole new ambition. The hotel you knew as the Super 8 Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts has become TERRA Laurentides. And yes, you’re in the right place.
Behind this change is a very simple conviction: a regional hotel shouldn’t look like every other one. It should look like its region, its landscapes, its history, its food, its people. That is exactly what TERRA came to do in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts.
The TERRA banner
Each region becomes the hotel
TERRA is an independent Quebec hotel banner, created to bring regional properties back to life: those addresses everyone knows, but that the big chains dress in a uniform concept decided somewhere else.
At TERRA, it’s the opposite: each hotel is designed as an authentic reflection of its territory. Here, the Laurentians set the tone, with natural materials, a mountain lodge spirit, and an experience built around leisure, skiing and nature. The bird that forms the T in our logo says the same thing in its own way: you travel, and you land somewhere with character.

Groupe G5
Five partners, one letter in common
Adam Gilbert, Tatiana Gabrysz, Charles Gabrysz, Véronique Gabrysz and Pierre-Marc Grégoire: five people passionate about hospitality and dining, whose last names all start with G, hence Groupe G5. Together they bring close to a century of experience in hotels and restaurants.
Their home base is in Abitibi, in Rouyn-Noranda, where the group already runs hotels and restaurants. Their mission fits in one sentence, which is also our signature: to be the group of choice where life is good to live, eat and drink.
Key dates
From yesterday’s resort town to today’s adventure
Mid-19th century
Sainte-Agathe, the elder of Laurentian resort towns
On the shores of Lac des Sables, Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts becomes one of the very first resort destinations in the Laurentians. The grand lakeside hotels, the northern railway, family holidays: the tradition of hospitality was born here.
The Super 8 years
An address the region knows well
At 500, rue Léonard, the hotel welcomes travellers, families and workers for years under an international banner. The address is good and the team knows the place inside out. All that is missing is a project worthy of it.
Summer 2026
Groupe G5 takes the keys
A Quebec family of hoteliers and restaurateurs takes over the property with one conviction: regional hotels deserve better than a uniform concept decided somewhere else.
July 6, 2026
TERRA Laurentides is born
The hotel becomes the very first of the TERRA banner. A new name, the same address, a different ambition: that every traveller feels at home here, in the heart of the Laurentian adventure.
2026 and beyond
A transformation in three stages
First the common areas, then the rooms redesigned in a Laurentian lodge spirit, all the way to a full renovation. The hotel stays open throughout: the transformation happens in plain sight.
2027
The banner grows
TERRA takes root in a second region with TERRA Rouyn-Noranda. Each new address will tell the story of its own territory.
The transformation
What is changing, concretely
The transformation happens in stages, without ever closing. The rooms will move to the Laurentian lodge spirit, with premium bedding, wood and plaid fabrics, while the common areas come to life starting now.
A lobby that smells like wood
A warm welcome area, designed like a lodge living room.
Coffee corner
Coffee and hot chocolate for early departures to the slopes.
Regional mini-market
Local products and Laurentian souvenirs, to go.
A redesigned breakfast room
The included continental breakfast, served in a space that does it justice.
Permanent exhibition
Laurentian history, art and craftsmanship throughout the common areas.
Gear storage
Ski racks, secure bike storage, a bike pump: everything is ready for adventure.
The promise
At home, in the heart of adventure
This is the place everything starts from and comes back to. Lac des Sables and its beach are steps away, the village of Sainte-Agathe is an easy walk, the P’tit Train du Nord trail passes close by, and Mont-Tremblant is about twenty minutes up Highway 15. You ski, you ride, you swim, you hike, then you come back to the indoor pool and its waterslide, before sleeping in one of our 74 rooms and suites. Breakfast, Wi-Fi and parking included, so that when you come back from the adventure, you truly feel at home.
Our commitments
Sustainable, concretely
Aiming for Green Key certification
TERRA Laurentides is targeting the certification's highest standards, with a sustainability plan built with the organization.
Buy local first
The G5 tradition: Canadian ingredients and regional producers on the plate, local suppliers in the rooms.
Nothing goes to waste
Furniture replaced during the transformation is donated to community organizations rather than thrown away.
Less disposable
Refillable dispensers, composting and less single-use plastic, room after room.
The story keeps being written. Follow the transformation and daily life at the hotel on our blog.
